Jaish warns Pro-India Politicians, Informers

Militant outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad has released a video warning pro-India politicians and “informers” of dire consequences if they do not give up their “anti-movement activities” by Eid.

In the 7-minute video, a masked man, with an AK-47 by his side and a kalima-inscribed banner in the background, reads out the names and addresses of some people he said were working for pro-India parties, army and police.

Describing Hizb commander Burhan Wani, whose killing on July 8 triggered the raging anti-India uprising, as Shaheed-e-Millat (martyr of the community), the militant stressed upon unity, while promising that militants along with Baramulla youth “will take the movement to its logical conclusion.”

“This is the last warning for pro-India politicians and youth who work for police and army. Don’t think we don’t know your names. We have your addresses as well,” the militant said.

“Tender an apology before Allah and join our rows,” he said, while reading out the names of the people.

It is probably for the first time since the 1990, when the armed militancy broke out, that such a video naming people and asking pro-India politicians to quit in such a manner has appeared.

During the ongoing anti-India uprising, militant outfits have circulated posters in south Kashmir, the epicenter of ongoing protests, asking pro-India politicians to quit. But no names were made public. Recently, Lashkar-e-Toiba sought permission from the pro-freedom leadership to “eliminate pro-India agents”.

Jaish—e-Mohammad, led by Maulana Masood Azhar, who was released along with two others in exchange of hijacked plane in Kandhar, is known for introducing suicide attacks in the region. His fiery speeches are often broadcast on Public Address Systems of Masjids during the ongoing protests in Kashmir.

Superintendent of police Baramulla Imitiyaz Hussain said the video has been released by Jaish-e-Mohammad but they would ensure security of all whom the militants have named.
