Geelani condemns Rajnath’s statement in SAARC summit

‘India wants to hide its terrorist activities by such statements’

Chairman Hurriyat (G), Syed Ali Geelani while reacting to the statement of the Home Minister Rajnath Singh in the recent SAARC summit Friday said India is the “largest terrorist country in the world and if anyone is needed to be isolated it is this very country.”
Geelani was reacting to Singh’s statement in Islamabad Pakistan in which he had said “the terror sponsored countries should be isolated.”
Addressing the media persons before his arrest Geelani said by issuing such statements, India actually wants to “hide its terrorist activities in the region.”
“The worst form of terrorism of all times has been the state terrorism and India is largest sponsor of state terrorism all over the country particularly in Jammu & Kashmir. Not only the people of Jammu Kashmir but the very citizens of India like Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Dalits, Aadivasies (tribal people) are feeling the heat of the state terrorism of India,” said Geelani.
Later in a statement issued here Geelani said nobody has forgotten the “government sponsored Gujarat carnage in 2002 where more than three thousand innocent and unarmed Muslims including children, women and a Parliament member were mercilessly burnt alive.”
Geelani said, “India has broken all the records of repression and it is the leading nation in the world with human rights violations. This country has transformed secularism into terrorism.”
He said if anybody has to witness the “inhuman” face of India, he should visit Jammu & Kashmir where the armed forces are mercilessly killing and eliminating people of the state and where entire population is branded as terrorists.
Hurriyat (G) Chairman said the separatist leadership had called for a peaceful gathering at Dargah Hazratbal to offer Friday congregational prayers and pay homage to Kashmir’s martyrs. “But New Delhi used its military might to gag the peaceful and genuine voices of the Kashmiri people and turned the entire state into a military garrison,” he said.
Taking dig at the state police, Geelani cautioned that the “anti-people and anti-movement policemen should prepare themselves for the judgment day because they have crossed all limitations of cruelty against their own people.”
Hurriyat (G) Chairman also paid rich tributes to the courage and valour of the people of Doda, Banihal, Rajouri, Kishtwar, Ramban and Poonch who are showing their affiliation with the ongoing Kashmir struggle.
