Mass copying video at Rainawari School goes viral, authorities unfazed

Mass copying video at Rainawari School goes viral, authorities unfazedMass copying was rampant in the ongoing Jammu Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) bi-annual matric examinations at Government Boys High School Rainawari Srinagar, locals alleged on Tuesday.
The claim of the locals is corroborated by a mobile video clip that has gone viral showing teachers on duty helping students to resort to unfair means.
Locals from Rainawari area told Srinagar based news gathering agency CNS that few teachers on examination duty have been encouraging the malpractice while in centre number 8145 the situation is even worse, with the flying and sitting squads failing to prevent the goings-on.
“I myself shot a hidden video inside the examination centre where mass copying was going on in full swing. Two students were caught for impersonation, but were let free without any action. I even informed Board officials but they did not take the matter seriously,” Sabya, a student said showing the video to this reporter.
“The sitting and flying squads have also visited the examination halls to check for cheating but of no use. The lack of effective control at examination centres has allowed errant staff and candidates to flout ethics with impunity,” said a group of locals.
They urged the BOSE authorities to keep a vigil on these examination centres to prevent mass copying.
A senior official from the Board of School Education said that they would initiate stringent action against the staff encouraging students to copy.
