NC youth wing to fight for state’s internal autonomyThe youth wing of the National Conference (NC) today said it would fight for internal autonomy of Jammu and Kashmir while protecting the state flag, Constitution and special status within the Union of India.
“The youth NC is committed to uphold the political dignity and rights of people of Jammu and Kashmir,” read one of the four resolutions passed by the NC youth wing during a convention here.
Hundreds of NC youth workers attended the function, which also saw the presence of former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah.
Expressing disappointment over the present political situation in the state, it said, “The two alliance partners, the PDP and BJP, should either come forward to form a government or pave the way for the conduct of fresh elections in the state.”
It demanded that the National Food Security Act should be rolled back for its “adverse implications” on people of the state.
The NC youth wing resolved that New Delhi should take immediate and effective measures to ensure that the harassment and profiling of Kashmiri youth outside the state was stopped immediately.
