Encourage locals for morning run, jog and exercise

Downtown youth start ‘Healthy Kashmir’ initiativeThe youth from downtown in Srinagar have started an initiative “Healthy Kashmir” to attract people to different parks in Srinagar for morning run and walk.

The initiative has been started by the top athletes of the Valley including Riyaz Wani, Taneer Ahmad, Hamid Ahmad and Abid Ahmad who teach physical exercises to locals at different parks especially at Badamwari.

Hundreds of the locals visit Badamwari in the morning from 7 am to 9 am for run and walk. J&K Bank under its Corporate Social Responsibility developed this park where locals come without paying for entry ticket in the morning hours.

“We have started Healthy Kashmir initiative under which we encourage locals to participate in the exercises, jogging and running early in the morning. We have top athletes like Tanveer and Hamid who spend time with locals and train them. We have started at Badamwari and Kashmir University garden,” said Riyaz Wani.

Different exercises are done by locals in the morning to remain fit and also to lose weight.
