Kashmir is natural play fields for adventure activities: ATOAK

Hails tourism department for declaring 2016 as “Adventure Tourism” year

Kashmir is natural play fields for adventure activities - ATOAKAdventure Tour Operators Association of Kashmir (ATOAK) has hailed the decision of   department of tourism for declaring the year 2016 as “Adventure Tourism” year in Jammu & Kashmir.

In a statement, the members of ATOAK appreciated department of tourism for such a ‘visionary’ step which has been taken at an appropriate time though it was a long pending demand to the department of tourism from ATOAK to showcase and expose the adventure tourism potential of our state in its true and full form.

President ATOAK Rauf Tramboo while hailing the efforts of tourism department for their proactive role in promoting the tourism in general to our state said vast potential of adventure and recreational tourism in our state is yet to take a start.

“We have not opened our wings as yet like in the other Himalayan states where adventure tourism is much ahead of J&K.  This segment of tourism has grown tremendously in the world tourism map even in those places were the adventure related activities have been artificially created.”

Tramboo further said that Kashmir has natural play fields for holding adventure activities like water related or surface or air.

“We also have an edge over other Himalayan states as we are better connected to the places where we have the best potential of adventure tourism.

Tramboo said if adventure tour operators are given due patronage we assure department of tourism to do wonders in bringing desired number of adventure buffs to our state.

The adventure tour operators are hopeful of getting due attention from the department towards this important segment of tourism which otherwise has been ignored for a long period of time now. “We assure the department of tourism for our untiring support in promoting adventure in its true form and manifestations.”
