I-League: LoneStar KFC beat Dempo Sports, Goa

LoneStar Kashmir Football Club (LKFC) continued its good show in the 2nd division of the I-League football tournament defeating Dempo Sports, Goa, 1-0 at the TRC Ground here today.
I-League - LoneStar KFC beat Dempo Sports, GoaJammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) secretary Abdul Hamid said Balvinder Singh scored the lone goal for LKFC. The team had moved up to the second spot and would play another match here next Sunday.
The game was very important for the LKFC as Dempo Sports, Goa, had come to the Valley after 28 years. Today’s game had been dedicated to the late footballer Farooq Ahmad Bhat, also known as ‘Kashmir Pele’, Singh added.
The I-League matches have been drawing large crowds and have triggered hopes of a revival of the game in the Kashmir valley.
The first I-League game was played on December 6 at the TRC Ground when a match between PIFA, Mumbai, and LKFC ended in a 2-2 draw.
