Man booked, JCB seized for digging newly macadamized road

In a quick action, the authorities last evening booked a JCB driver and seized the machine for digging the recently macadamized road at LD Colony Hyderpora here. The government today said 56 persons had been detained under the Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act, 1978, and the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1988, this year till September 28. Dog-bite cases down by 35% in Srinagar

The government today said dog bite cases reported at a anti-rabies clinic of the SMHS Hospital, Srinagar, had come down by 35 per cent last year even as the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has already claimed of decrease of stray dog population by 50 per cent. The government has not created any posts for the teachers in Kashmiri language till date despite introducing the subject as compulsory up to class 9.
