Oct 27th strike a referendum against India, Hurriyat (G)

Oct 27th strike a referendum against India, Hurriyat (G)While thanking people for observing complete and statewide shutdown, All Parties Hurriyat Conference said that this shutdown is a clear referendum from the people of the state that they do not accept this forced occupation and their freedom struggle will continue in every way and at any cost till the presence of a single Indian soldier in the Jammu & Kashmir.

While strongly condemning the continuous house imprisonment of Hurriyat Chairman Syed Ali Geelani from last 6 months and continuous detention of Shabir Ahmad Shah, Ghulam Nabi Sumji, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Ayaz Akbar, Raja Mehraj-ud-din, Shakeel Ahmad Bhat, Mehraj-ud-din Rabbani, Umar adil Dar and Sajad Ahmad Lone at their houses or at different police stations, Hurriyat Conference said that the imprisonment of the pro-freedom people is an apparent proof of this fact that the government is not in a position to face them on political turf and they are occupying the chair of power with the help of army and police.

In a Tuesday’s press release, Hurriyat spokesman Ayaz Akbar said that India landed its troops in Jammu & Kashmir on 27 October 1947 and forcibly occupied this land. 68 years have passed from than but the people of this state have not changed a bit. They were opposing this occupation at that time and they are still protesting against it. India used its entire military power in Jammu & Kashmir to change the mindset of the Kashmiris but they miserably failed to conquer the Kashmiri nation and by observing the complete shutdown today, they once again announced their decision that they will never accept the forced and illegal occupation of India and have sent a message to the whole world that Kashmiris are in a state of protest against the Indian occupation.
