People of Nashri Peera Chanderkote Ramban Seri Digdool Magarkote have expressed concern over the deteriorating condition of old alignment of Jammu Srinagar National Highway passing through from various areas of this hilly district.
The contractor companies engaged by National Highway Authority of India is responsible for up keeping of the highway had reportedly failed to take mandatory maintenance and repairing work of the highway passing through in this district.
Ditches potholes and poor condition remains main problem for the commuters and the drivers who are used to visit and travel daily on the highway.
Expressing concern for the poor condition of the Highway people alleged that had brought a bad name to National Highway Authority of India.
They said due to bad condition large numbers of accidents are taking place on the highway and people travelling on the highway are suffering from disc displacement spinal injuries including dislocation of bones, they claimed.
District administration Ramban should take note of the worst condition of the Highway to direct to concern Contractor Companies to repair the highway by doing patch work and metalling at important places.
