Pakistani army fired mortars targeting Indian posts and forward villages in Mendhar sector of Poonch district along the line of control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, prompting retaliation from Indian troops.

No casualties were reported, a police spokesman said.
Meanwhile, Pakistani army’s publicity wing, ISPR said that its Rawalpindi Corps commander lieutenant general Nadeem Raza visited the field hospital in Lipa sector to meet those injured in Indian firing on Wednesday.
Raza also met the families of Sumaira Younis and Maryum, who died in Indian firing on Tuesday, the agency said.
