Grenade attack on parlour in Pulwama two girls injured

Two girls suffered minor injuries after militants lobbed a grenade towards a beauty parlour near Shaheed Park in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district this afternoon.
The police said the attack took place around 3.45 pm and was aimed at Rani Beauty Parlour.
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of the district said a girl identified as Shubeena was brought to the Pulwama District Hospital with a minor injury on her arm. The CMO said she was discharged after treatment.
Confirming the incident, Pulwama Senior Superintendent of Police Mohammad Aslam Choudhary said the grenade was aimed at the parlour and two girls working there were injured.
“One girl suffered injuries due to splinters while another was hit by shattered glass,” he said, adding that a police party had reached the spot and were ascertaining the situation.
The SSP said the parlour was also damaged. He said some youth later assembled at Shaheed Park and threw stones on security forces, forcing the police to fire tearsmoke shells.
Reportedly, posters of militant outfits had surfaced in and around the beauty parlour, asking it to shut down or face dire consequences.
This is third grenade attack in three weeks in the Valley. On September 21, minister Naeem Akhter escaped unhurt in a grenade attack in south Kashmir’s Tral that left three civilians dead and 30 others injured. Three days later a Special Police Officer averted casualties by “throwing away” a grenade tossed at a security forces vehicle in Sopore.
