Kashmiri student goes missing in Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University

Varsity alerts police after reports suggested he may have joined militancy

Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSB) authorities Tuesday lodged a written complaint with police and civil administration following reports about one of its B.Tech students joining militancy ranks.
As per the university’s official statement, one of the B.Tech (IT) students from 2014-18 batch namely Mohammed Eisa Fazili, son of Noor-Un-Naeem Faizili of Ahmed Nagar, Soura, Srinagar who was residing in the hostel left the premises of the hostel on August 17 without any information to the management.
“The concerned warden on usual round noticed his absence and immediately informed the Provost who tried to gather information about whereabouts of the said student but no worthwhile information was made available,” said the official statement.
It further reads that the parents of the student were informed. However, no information from the parents has yet been received.
“The concerned student after appearing in the exams of 6th semester has not registered for the 7th semester of B.Tech programme and has not attended any class work. After getting some unofficial reports on the social media about the student in question, the university authorities reported the matter to the district administration and police for necessary action,” reads the official statement of the university.
