Uproar in Assembly over ‘land grab’ by BJP Minister

Uproar in Assembly over ‘land grab’ by BJP MinisterOpposition Congress and National Conference on Thursday created uproar in the Legislative Assembly over “land grab” by a BJP Minister seeking the Government should sack him.
The members stormed into the Well to raise the issue before staging walk out from the House.
As soon as the House met, the Congress members stood up, demanding the Government should table the inquiry report into the alleged land grab by the BJP Minister Abdul Ghani Kohli.
“The inquiry report by the District Development Commissioner has indicted him. Why is government silent on the report?” asked Congress MLA Nawang Rigzin Jora.
He was joined by other members of Congress in the chorus for sacking of the Minister. Amid continued sloganeering the members came in the Well.
“Corrupt Sarkar Hai Hai, Chor Sarkar Hai Hai,” shouted the Congress members.
Amid chaos in the House, some members from National Conference stood up demanding action in the case.
At this moment, Minister for CAPD, Choudhary Zulfikar intervened, informing the House that the case was sub judice and hence the issue can’t be discussed in the House.
“If the matter can’t be discussed in the House, let the Government table the inquiry report so that the members are also taken into confidence on the issue,” demanded the Congress members.
Thumping the benches, the opposition members continued with the demand for the tabling of the report in the House.
Trying to pacify the members, the Speaker Kavinder Gupta intervened: “We can’t have a discussion on the issue as the matter is in the court.”
But his response didn’t satisfy the opposition members who continued with the protests in the Well, disputing the proceedings in the House. Later they staged walkout from the House.
