The veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has said that Jammu and Kashmir is the most militarized region of the world and Indian troops are occupying this land against the wishes of its people, unleashing brutal and inhuman atrocities upon its residents.
Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar took strong exception to the puppet Chief Minister, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed’s assertion that the future of Jammu and Kashmir lies with India and termed it a big lie. He said that Mufti Sayeed and people like him had no mandate to issue decrees about the future of Kashmir. He said that the puppet Chief Minister’s statement was totally contrary to the ground reality and history of Kashmir.The veteran leader pointed out that a few pro-India politicians like Mufti Sayeed could not hold hostage the entire Kashmiris for their chair. He said that the majority of Jammu and Kashmir residents had neither accepted the forced military control of India in the past nor they would accept it in the future.
“Mufti Sayeed has to be very thankful to the presence of Indian Army and Police Raj in Jammu and Kashmir for elevating him to power but his jurisdiction is limited to construction of roads and bridges. As far as the future of Jammu and Kashmir is concerned, all its rights are reserved with the common people and resistance leadership of Kashmir who are struggling and offering sacrifices for that purpose,” he added.
Syed Ali Gilani maintained that Mufti Sayeed could get benefits for his children in the Indian military occupation but the future of the Kashmiri nation is in no way secure in it. Indian occupation has only given deaths, miseries and destruction to the Kashmiris which resulted in political uncertainty, instability and disorder in this entire region, he said.
“How can our future be secure with that country which has deployed its troops here without any moral and constitutional justification and not only brutally killed lakhs of innocent people but subjected over 10,000 to custodial disappearance and killed another 10,000 in custody? This is the country which instead of giving anything has looted and forcibly occupied the natural resources of the Kashmir and forcibly took over lakhs of Kanals of land of the common Kashmiris and constructed mega Army camps on it,” he added.
