Secretary Tourism Farooq Shah interacted with travel trade associations of Kashmir to get their ideas to promote Kashmir to increase both domestic and international tourist arrivals.
The travel trade representatives put forth their suggestions and the Secretary Tourism assured them of making J&K a round the year destination.
The tourism stakeholders held a two hour long brainstorming session with Farooq Shah and the meeting discussed various ways to and strategies to promote J&K’s unexplored and existing tourism potential.
He asked the travel trade fraternity to support the efforts of tourism department to make the Jammu and Kashmir as best destination in the country.
Secretary tourism said it is the dream of Chief Minister to see the state back on the national and international map as the best destination.
The secretary announced holding of Kashmir festivals outside the state and inside the Valley.
He said during the festivals, State’s culture, heritage, art and craft will be promoted.
The representatives of TASK, TAAI, ADTOI, ATOAK, KHARA, KHAROF, PILTOP and other associations including shikara wallahs, houseboat owners associations and taxi owners associations were present in the meeting.
