Srinagar-Leh road closed, vehicles stranded

The highway, connecting Ladakh region with the Kashmir valley, was closed on Tuesday following overnight snowfall at several places, reports said. Snowfall occurred at Zojilla and other areas on the highway since last night, forcing authorities to suspend traffic on the road. Sources said hundreds of vehicles were stranded on both sides of the Zojila pass after the road was closed.

Clashes in South Kashmir leave dozens injured

Dozens of people have been injured in clashes with police and paramilitary forces in southern district of Jammu and Kashmir. Clashes broke out earlier today after paramilitary CRPF men allegedly thrashed pedestrians and motorists in Anantnag district.
