Authorities made heavy deployment of government forces in Srinagar and other areas of the Kashmir Valley on Thursday as life remained paralysed for the 62nd consecutive day, officials said. Curfew-like restrictions were imposed in Srinagar and other parts of Kashmir valley on Monday to prevent protests against the killing of two civilians in alleged firing by police and army yesterday. A police official said that restrictions were imposed in areas falling under the jurisdiction of six police stations in Srinagar. “Restrictions have been imposed in the areas of Khanyar, Rainawari, Nowhatta, M.R.Gunj, Safakadal and Maisuma,” he said.
