Kashmir Health Department Removes Improperly Attached Employees

The Health Department in Kashmir has taken decisive action to address the issue of improperly attached employees in various health institutions across the division. In a recent directive, the Health and Medical Education (H&ME) Department has instructed the directors of Health Services of Kashmir and Jammu, along with the Director Family Welfare, MCH and Immunization, to immediately detach all staff members who were informally attached by Heads of Departments (HoDs).

This move comes in response to concerns about the practice of HoDs attaching staff without proper authorization, leading to imbalances in staffing levels and potential irregularities in employee records. The Health Department has already begun the process of detaching these employees, with significant progress made in districts such as Kupwara, Ganderbal, and Bandipora.

In Kupwara, 16 employees who were informally attached have been detached, while Ganderbal has witnessed the detachment of approximately 61 employees. The Bandipora district has also recorded the detachment of 16 more employees. The department has emphasized that this process will continue in all districts until all improperly attached employees have been identified and detached.

Apart from removing improperly attached employees, the H&ME Department has also called for the strict implementation of transfer and posting orders issued by the administrative department. These measures are aimed at ensuring a rational and efficient deployment of staff, ultimately benefiting patient care and overall healthcare outcomes in Kashmir.

The department has warned that any violations of these directives will be met with strict disciplinary action against both the employees involved and the concerned HoDs. This firm stance reflects the department’s commitment to upholding transparency, accountability, and adherence to proper procedures in the management of staff resources.

In summary, the Health Department’s actions to detach improperly attached employees and enforce transfer and posting orders represent a significant step towards enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of healthcare services in Kashmir. These measures demonstrate the department’s commitment to prioritizing patient care and ensuring optimal utilization of staff resources.
