Police issue traffic schedule for Kargil road

The Traffic Police today issued a new schedule for the commuters in view of the bad condition of the Sonamarg-Drass road around the Zojila axis. Zojila Pass reopens for traffic; 800 stranded vehicles move towards Sonamarg

After four days of closure, Srinagar-Leh Highway today reopened for vehicular traffic. The road was closed on 5th November after heavy snowfall at Zojila Pass. Protests erupt in Kargil after taxi drivers assaulted in Leh

The recent agreement between Leh and Kargil taxi unions brokered by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Asgar Samoon was severed last night after five taxi drivers were attacked at Leh Taxi Stand by unknown people. The attack resulted in injuries to three drivers who were hospitalized later. Cloudburst damages 20 houses in Kargil

At least 20 residential houses were damaged after a cloudburst struck Choskore Wakha village in Kargil district Tuesday night. Official sources said that the cloudburst triggered flash floods in Choskore Wakha village, some 42 kilometers from main Kargil town. “The cloudburst and subsequent flash floods damaged 20 residential houses. The district administration shifted the victims to safer places,” officials said.
