Arrangements for 13th “Tour de Kashmir” cycling event reviewed

Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon today convened a meeting of officers of divisional administration in connection with conduct of 6 day National Level 13th “Tour de Kashmir” cycling event. The event is being organized by J&K Sports Development Association in-collaboration with Tourism department Kashmir. The event would start from October 3 and will conclude on October 09, 2015. JK to host sub-junior chess nationals from Sept 21

As many as 40 international-level players will participate in the upcoming 41st National Sub-Junior Boys and 32nd Sub-Junior National Girls Chess Championship to be hosted by J&K for the first time ever from September 21 to 29. Three local adventure sport athletes representing Kolahoi Mountaineers have scaled Kashmir’s highest mountain peak – Kolahoi. It is after more than two decades that a local group has scaled the highest peak of the Valley which is counted among the toughest peaks to summit technically. State soon to get Rs 200 cr from Union Sports Ministry Minister for Youth Services and Sports Imran Raza Ansari today said the Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Stadium here would be developed as a world-class sports facility. Ansari also said Rs 200 crore would soon be released by the Union Sports Ministry. JKFA suspends 13 players over ‘misconduct’ charges

The J&K Football Association (JKFA) has suspended around 13 players and officials during last one month for their ‘alleged’ misconduct during matches even as the suspended players and officials say they were not given a chance to present their cases. Dragon boat teams selected for national championship
