Gulmarg and other areas in the higher reaches of Kashmir received fresh snow on Friday, while the plains in the valley, including the summer capital Srinagar, were lashed by rain. Rains lashed Kashmir Sunday bringing down the maximum temperature across the Valley with the MeT office forecasting the wet spell to continue over the few next days. Most parts of Kashmir, including summer capital Srinagar, received rains today, an official of the meteorological office here said. Low lying areas of Kashmir are witnessing intermittent rains since last night which has resulted in dipping of mercury throughout the region. There are also reports of fresh snowfall in the higher reaches across Pir panchal and Zojila on Thursday.
