J&K RTI Movement Thursday strongly condemns the “murderous” attack on MLA Langate Er Rashid, terming the act “the murder of democracy within the highest institution of democracy itself”.
The incident is clear indication of communal agenda being implemented in the state of Jammu and Kashmir by the “hired” MLAs, said chairman JK RTI Movement, Dr Shaikh Ghulam Rasool
“By beating an MLA in the Legislative Assembly, the fascist forces are sending a strong message that nobody is safe within the state of J&K, and if they can thrash a Muslim MLA in the Muslim majority state, they can actually kill and torture anyone in the state on the pretext of eating beef,” he said.
Dr Shaikh termed the act a breach of Legislative Assembly decorum.
“It becomes imperative on the Honorable Governor of J&K state to terminate the involved MLAs and to impose life-long ban on them to contest in the elections in future,” he said. “It is high time to raise the voice against fascism, right wing intolerant forces and lawlessness which has prompted as a strategy to divide Jammu and Kashmir on the lines of religion, region and sentiments of segments.”
J&KRTIM appeals all Civil Society groups to unite and jointly fight against the fascist agenda being implemented in the state.
