No post created to teach Kashmiri in schools: Govt

The government has not created any posts for the teachers in Kashmiri language till date despite introducing the subject as compulsory up to class 9.
No post created to teach Kashmiri in schools - GovtThis was revealed Minister for Education, Naeem Akhtar in a written reply to a query by Aijaz Ahmad Mir.
He informed the Assembly that no post of subject specific teacher has been created in the Jammu and Kashmir School Education (Subordinate) Service Recruitment Rule, 2008.
“The teachers proficient in taking Kashmiri subject are made available as per need basis,” Akhtar said.
Kashmiri language is being taught in all government schools of Kashmir division up to 9th standard and it is one of the optional subject for class 11th and 12th.
The government said the Kashmiri subject was being taught in 19 colleges of J&K at graduation level and the Kashmir University has a full-fledged Kashmiri department to teach students at postgraduate, doctorate and post doctorate level besides Certificate and PG Diploma.
