Paying rich tributes to the two militants killed in Tral area of Pulwama, Chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani Monday said these ‘brave hearts of our nation are sacrificing themselves for Kashmir cause’.
India holds key to peace in Kashmir - GeelaniHe said the youth have put down a ‘huge responsibility on us to protect these sacrifices and carry forward the struggle in any way and at any cost.’
Geelani in a statement said the loss of precious human lives continues to occur due to the instable and uncertain political situations in Jammu & Kashmir and all its responsibility lies with India who instead of respecting the wishes and aspirations of the Kashmiri people is using ‘rigid, arrogant and stubborn approach with the help of its military power.’
On the directions of Geelani, a Tehreek-e-Hurriyat delegation led by district president Pulwama Ghulam Mohiudin Andrabi and tehsil president Jahangir Ahmad today visited Tral and participated in the funeral prayers of the two militants and paid glorious tributes to them on the occasion.
Geelani said, “We are a peace loving nation and don’t want war but India is pushing us towards the wall and wants to ride on our backs with the help of its military might. This policy and approach has a natural reaction and our youth leave their schools, colleges and universities to pick up the gun.”
He cautioned that if India will not accept the ground realities regarding Kashmir and shun its ‘rigid and stubborn’ policies, then this process will continue ant it can any time take an ugly turn out of control for everybody.
“Keys of peace in Kashmir lie in the hands of India. They only have to show respect to the genuine demands of the Jammu & Kashmir people and give them a chance to decide their future which will bring peace, stability and tranquility to the entire South Asian region,” Geelani added.
