Terming the suspension of Hurriyat (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani’s passport a ‘big question mark’ over the democratic claims of India, Hurriyat (G) Wednesday said this country is actually an ‘imperialistic power controlling the entire Kashmiri nation with its military might and doesn’t want the voices of people of this region to reach the outer world.’
Passport suspension question mark on India’s democratic claims - Hurriyat (G)Hurriyat (G) spokesperson in a statement said, “By suspending the passport of Geelani, India proved they have no justification of holding Kashmir forcibly and they are scared of Geelani Sahab’s participation in the international events. Geelani Sahab was invited by the OIC to the New York conference and he had decided to participate in the event.”
He said Gelani had applied for visa from the US embassy in New Delhi and had received green signal but on September 22, Regional Passport Office, Srinagar informed us through email that Geelani Sahab’s passport has been suspended.
Hurriyat Conference (G) said it is the “fascist attitude of the India and it has no moral or constitutional justification.” Hurriyat Conference (G) appealed the OIC to take serious notice of the suspension of the passport of Geelani Sahab and pressurize India for its release.
