Centre, State failed on rehabilitation: Altaf Bukhari

Minister for Roads and Building, Syed Altaf Bukhari admitted that the state and the centre governments have “failed to live up to the expectations” of people in Kashmir who faced devastating losses during last year deluge.
Centre, state failed on rehabilitation - Altaf Bukhari“Let me admit that state and central governments so far have failed to provide rehabilitation to flood affected people in the state,” he said after inaugurating Ethnic Wazwan Restaurant at Hotel Heemal of JK Tourism Development Corporation here.
Bukhari however hailed the resilience of people of Kashmir for braving the odds. “It is the resilience of people of Kashmir who are braving all odds; I must say it is character of Kashmiris that they have always stood against challenges,” he said adding that state government has limited resources and “has done its best to provide succour to flood hit people.” “Out of our own resources, the state government has provided relief cheques to traders,” he stated and added that the JK government is still hopeful of centre government package.
