A senior police officer today reviewed the overall security situation in the border district of Leh in Jammu and Kashmir.
During his visit, the DIG addressed jawans and met civil society members of the district besides chairing a meeting of the district administration in which all the top officers Leh participated, the spokesperson said.
“In the meeting, the overall security scenario of the district, the crime and its prevention and detection was also discussed,” he added.
Bhat stressed upon the officers to fine-tune their security plans and adopt new techniques for detection of crime and also take preventive actions for maintenance of law and order in the district.
Superintendent of Police, Leh, Sunil Gupta briefed the DIG regarding the work and functioning of district police in handling crime and law and order situations.
Bhat has also asked the officers to adopt people-friendly approach and redress the grievances of general public on priority basis.
The officer also held interactions with members of civil society and assured them of all possible assistance to redress their grievances.
The DIG also held a darbar of officers and policemen where he listened to the grievances of the jawans, the spokesperson said.
