Authorities remove bottleneck for multi-level parking in Lal Chowk

In a bid to remove bottleneck for construction of first-of-its-kind multi level parking in city centre Lal Chowk, Srinagar Development Authority (SDA) demolished several structures in Old KMD Yard.

The demolition drive was conducted under the supervision of the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr Asghar Hassan Samoon, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone, Vice-Chairperson SDA, Secretary SDA,  and other officers were present during the demolition drive.
Pertinently, the maiden mechanized multi-layer parking facility is coming up at Old KMD Yard at a cost of Rs 30 crore with a parking facility for around 300 vehicles. The commissioning of the facility would go a long way in augmenting the parking facility in Lal Chowk area which otherwise remains highly congested.
