Scores of activists of the Youth Congress were today detained by the police after they took out a “shav yatra” (funeral procession) of BJP-led NDA government for its failure on all fronts. Hundreds of activists, under the leadership of Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC) chief Pranav Shagotra, gathered in front of the Press Club of Jammu as part of the programme announced by the party to lodge protest against the NDA government. Er. Rashid waves black flags against Modi visit, detained

Independent legislator Er Rashid was detained on Saturday after he waved black flags to show his resentment to PM Modi’s visit to Srinagar. Reports said Rashid came out of residence in Jawahar Nagar area along with few of his supporters and waved black flags. Rashid had earlier appealed people to wave blacks to show their anger at the visit of Modi to the state. Reports said that a police contingent arrived at the scene and detained Rashid.
