Chaotic Scenes in JK Assembly as Sajad Lone and BJP Members Clash Over Special Status Resolution

Srinagar, Nov 07:
The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly witnessed chaotic scenes today as MLA Handwara, Sajad Lone, and BJP members clashed on the floor of the house. The uproar ensued during the discussion on the resolution seeking the restoration of special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

The BJP members vehemently opposed the resolution, arguing that it was against the rules and not listed on the agenda for the day. The heated exchange between Sajad Lone and the BJP members disrupted the proceedings, leading to a temporary adjournment of the assembly session.

Sajad Lone, who has been a vocal advocate for the restoration of J&K’s special status, accused the BJP of trying to suppress the voices of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized the importance of the resolution in addressing the aspirations of the region’s residents.

The Deputy Chief Minister, who moved the resolution in the house, expressed disappointment over the BJP’s opposition. He stated that the resolution had garnered significant support from the majority of the assembly members, reflecting the collective will of the people.

As the assembly session resumed, the Speaker urged all members to maintain decorum and engage in constructive debate. Despite the ongoing tensions, the resolution was eventually passed, marking a significant step towards the restoration of J&K’s special status.
