The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) is participating in the 57th Indian Handicraft Gift Fair (IHGF) AUTUMN-2023 at Greater Noida, New Delhi. The fair started on October 12 and will continue till October 16, 2023.
The fair is being organised under the auspices of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. Ten members of the KCCI are participating in the fair.
The exhibition was inaugurated by officials of the Export Promotion Council of Handicrafts.
A special feature of the exhibition is the participation of artisans representing different crafts who are giving live demonstrations of the production of various handicraft items. The KCCI stalls are receiving a good number of buyers to appreciate and buy the products.
The President of KCCI, Mr. Javed Ahmad Tenga, has specially flown to Delhi for the inaugural ceremony. The KCC&I Trade Fair Sub-Committee Chairman, Mr. Muzaffar Majid Jan, is in-charge of the affairs of the fair.
The participation of the KCCI in the IHGF is a welcome step. It will provide a platform for Kashmiri artisans to showcase their products to a wider audience and to explore new markets. The fair is also an opportunity for the KCCI to promote Kashmir as a tourist destination.
