Three Soldiers killed after avalanche hits army camp in Machhil Sector

Three army personnel were killed on Friday when an avalanche struck their post in Machhil sector of Jammu and Kashmir, the Army said. “In an unfortunate incident of an avalanche in Machhil sector, the Army lost three valiant soldiers,” an army official said. The avalanche hit an army post of 21 Rajput around 4:30 pm at Sona Pandi Gali in Machil along the Line of Control. Authorities imposed restrictions in Srinagar and Shopian districts on Friday to prevent a separatist-called march in protest against the killing of five civilians over the last few days. A 78-year-old man from Chanapora Srinagar lost his battle to swine flu Thursday at Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura taking the death toll since October to 30.
