25 injured reach Kulgam Hospital, situation very tense
Reports from Kulgam in south Kashmir suggest that situation is very tense and more than 30 persons have sustained injuries in the ongoing clashes in the district however officials were not available for comments.
District Hospital Kulgam sources told Kashmir Post that they received 25 injured persons who have different sorts of injuries. Intense clashes erupted in Adeejan area of the district after thousands of protesters were stopped from marching to DH Pora. Local people had called a prayer meeting at DH Pora in memory of civilian killed recently.
Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani and Hurriyat (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Wednesday led sit-in protests in Srinagar. The united resistance leadership had called for sit-in protest program across Kashmir today.
Geelani held a sit-in on the road outside its office in Hyderpora in uptown Srinagar. He was accompanied by several supporters and party members. Mirwaiz, too led a sit-in protest. He was also accompanied by his supporters.
Media advisor to Mirwaiz, advocate Shahid ul Islam told Rising Kashmir that sit-in was held just outside the Nigeen residence of Mirwaiz.
