The overcast sky today brought much-needed respite to the residents of Jammu from the sweltering heat.
As the mercury touched 42.4°C yesterday, the Agromet advisory bulletin came to the rescue of the people announcing a “cool break” for a few days.
The Metrological Department that had forecast rainfall and thunderstorm today, also has predicted another five days of cool weather for Jammu.
As per the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain partially cloudy to cloudy with chances of light rainfall/thunderstorm at a few places in Jammu district. Winds may blow below its normal speed by 2 km/hr in NE direction.
The maximum and minimum temperature may remain above normal and will be observed in the range of 38°C to 40°C and 23°C to 25°C, respectively.
The Agromet advisory bulletin for sub-tropical conditions of the Jammu region issued jointly by the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology and India Meteorological Department, Agromet Research Centre, SKUAST, Jammu, has forecast another five cool days with maximum temperature remaining between 34°C and 36°C with 2 to 5 mm rainfall scattered at different places.
