The Panun Kashmir (PK), a frontal organisation of displaced Kashmiri Pandits, today alleged that the Agenda of Alliance formulated by the BJP and PDP to form government in Jammu and Kashmir had become a tool of “political blackmail” to force a compromise on vital national issues.
Addressing a press conference, PK convener Dr Agnishekhar and chairman Dr Ajay Chrangoo blamed the BJP for undermining nationalist forces in J&K by making a compromise to allow formation of government led by Mehbooba Mufti.
“We appeal to the Central Government to clearly reject the Agenda of Alliance as the basis of any political alliance for the government formation in the state. Any dithering on the subject will undermine further the national resolve and efforts to meet the challenge of separatism in the state,” said Dr Ajay Chrangoo.
Dr Chrangoo said it was high time that the Central Government realised that accommodating soft-separatism had only resulted in widening the reach of fundamentalism in the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Agnishekhar alleged that grip of radical elements in Kashmir and parts of Jammu was growing with each day and there was no effort to break the nexus.
“We are witnessing a two-pronged intifada in which terrorist attacks are simultaneously complimented with public mobilisations. The government should take notice that terrorist attacks are expanding, but there is total inaction”, alleged Agnishekhar.
The organisation has claimed that the Central Government cannot ignore the fact that separatist cadres have successfully infiltrated into the educational system. “The JNU episode is an eye-opener as students who raised seditious and pro-Pak slogans are still free and this will only encourage seditious and secessionist tendencies in Jammu and Kashmir as well as rest of India,” the PK claims.
