Avalanche warning issued for Kashmir & Ladakh region

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr Asgar Samoon on Thursday issued a medium danger avalanche in several regions of Jammu and Kashmir. An official handout, quoting Samoon, said avalanche warning exists for snowbound areas in Qazigund, Shopian, Chowkibal-Tangdar, Taya, Ragini, Puttakhan, Zunegund, Malai, Pharkiyan, Keran Sector, Bandipora Rajdhan, Gulmarg, Neeru, Burab, Chakwali, Naugaon, Kaiyan, Radha TMG, Padam, Zebra, Patlala, Z-Gali, Macchal, Dhudi, Tsuntwarl, Drass Sector, Kargil Sector and Higher reaches of Kulgam and Anantnag in Kashmir Division. The High Court today directed the government to identify and conduct screening test of only those Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) teachers who had obtained degrees through distance mode from institutions termed as “tuck shops” by the court.
