Protests erupted in many parts of Srinagar city on Monday over the rape of a minor girl in Sumbal area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district last week. Reports said that protests erupted in Saida Kadal, Gaw Kadal, Almagari Bazar and Shalimar areas of the city. The Municipal polls in Jammu and Kashmir that is taking place after a gap of 13 years, on Monday witnessed long queues in Jammu, Rajouri and Poonch districts while people barely arrived in the valley booths that wore a deserted look.
