GAD seeks action against 18 employees

State government has asked different departments to take action against their employees who are doing part-time jobs in Non-Government organisations.
Part-time jobs by Government employeesGeneral Administration Department (GAD) through Additional Secretary to Government  has written to these departments asking them to take action against delinquent public servants if they have violated the provisions of JK Govt Employees (Conduct) Rules, 1971, Action taken in the matter be conveyed to GAD (Vigilance) immediately.
The action has been taken after JK Yateem Foundation communicated a list of its office bearers who are also working in different departments of the government.
Government earlier had sought a list of its employees who have second jobs in violation of service rules. GAD had issued a circular on May 15, asking government departments to provide details about such employees.
Foundation in a communication to GAD has said that these persons do not perform their legitimate duties in their concerned departments and are availing the different benefits provided by the organisation.
“From time to time these persons were suggested not to hold the different posts and positions in the organisation but nobody was ready to leave the same,” the letter addressed to GAD by Program Executive Haji Mushtaq Ahmad reveals. The foundation had also recommended action against these government employees.
The officials include Mohammad Yaqoob Reshi Additional Director Planning Shopian who is also General Secretary of Yateem Foundation.
The others Office bearers of foundation who are also government employees  include Mohammad Rafiq lone, Syed Abdul Hamid, Tariq Ahmad Malik, Manzoor Ahmad Khan, Mohammad Maqbool Dar, Mohammad Anwar Bhat, Bashir Ahmad Shah, Javid Ahmad Bhat (Jawad), Mohammad Iqbal Beigh, Mohammad Ishaq Sheikh, Ab Gani Sheikh, Farooq Ahmad Bhat, Shamim Ahmad Bhat, Wali Mohammad Sheikh, Altaf Ahmad Sofi, Javid Ahmad Karipak, and Dr Gulzar Ahmad.
