The national gold medal winning skier from Kashmir, Faarukh Usmaan, has questioned Winter Games Federation of India (WGFI) over keeping his status in the disputed list. “Federation International Skiing (FIS) races are going to be held in India for the first time and according to FIS rules only top Indian players will be participating in such an event. After an early snowfall this season, the Tourism Department today kick-started winter sports activities at north Kashmir’s ski resort of Gulmarg with a snowshoe run and skiing event. A 25-year-old Indian sportsman arrested in the US on charges of sexually abusing a minor girl has avoided trial by pleading guilty to endangering the welfare of a child and would be deported, the authorities said.
