Spontaneous clashes erupted in several parts of Kashmir after the news of killing of top militant Sabzar Ahmad Bhat broke out following an encounter in Saimu village of Tral on Saturday. Initially several people received injuries during the clashes at encounter site in Saimu village in Tral Tehsil in southern Kashmir. Block Medical Officer at Tral Hospital told Kashmir Post that the hospital has received five injuries so far. “They have received minor injuries,” he said. Security forces on Saturday killed Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Sabzar Ahmad, who was said to be the slain separatist Burhan Wani’s successor. Ahmad, alias Abu Zarar, was reportedly killed in an encounter in Tral in Pulwama, after he was trapped inside a house in a cordon created by security forces. Dozens of civilians were injured after government forces fired pellets and burst teargas shells to break up protests in Rathsun village of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday. The Muslim holy fasting month of Ramadan is due to begin Saturday in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, religious authorities in both countries announced. A policeman and a civilian were injured in a grenade blast in Safa Kadal area of downtown Srinagar on Thursday.
