A BJP leader escaped a militant attack in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, but his personal security officer (PSO) was injured in the incident, the police said. Militants fired upon Anwar Khan, a BJP leader, at Balhama in Pulwama district, a police official said. The death toll in Sunday night’s firing incident in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir has climbed to six after one more body was recovered from the scene on Monday. “Another body has been found at a distance from Sunday evening’s incident at Pahnoo Shopian,” a police spokesman said. The 300-km-long Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was closed due to landslide and falling of stones from hill tops in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir, a police official said on Friday. “Traffic has been suspended on the highway due to falling of rocks and landslide triggered due to rains in Digdol belt in Ramsoo tehsil of the district today,” the police officer said.
