Three migrant workers shot at, injured in Shopian

Three Non-locals Labourers were injured after suspected militants fired upon them in Gagran area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday evening. A top police officer told that militants this evening fired upon three non-locals in Gagran area. All three were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, the status of their condition was not available. As per intial reports they have been identified as Anmol, Hirlal and Pinto. More details emerging.

Supreme Court Orders Day-to-Day Hearing on Abrogation of Article 370 from August 2

The Supreme Court on Tuesday directed a day-to-day hearing of a clutch of petitions relating to the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir from August 2. The hearing of pleas will be on the day-to-day basis except for Monday and Friday, said the court. An earthquake of magnitude 4.9 hit Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district early on Monday, the National Centre for Seismology said. The quake occurred at 5.38 am. There are no immediate reports of any damage, officials said. The epicentre was 10 km below the surface of the earth in Doda region. Supreme Court to Hear Challenge to Article 370 Abrogation on July 11

The Supreme Court will take up on July 11 a batch of petitions challenging the abrogation of Article 370 and the bifurcation of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir into two Union territories.
