They may prefer summaries, bullet points, or quick explanations rather than full chapters. Over time, this can weaken comprehension skills and reduce the ability to engage with in-depth material, which is essential for higher education and competitive exams.

reels demand very little sustained attention. A swipe instantly replaces one clip with another, creating a continuous stream of stimulation.

Teachers are observing that students often struggle to stay focused for extended periods, frequently reaching for their phones even during study time.
One of the biggest concerns linked to short-form content is its potential effect on attention span. Learning often requires deep concentration — the ability to sit with a problem, analyze
information, and think critically. Reels, however, train the brain to expect constant novelty and rapid rewards.
When students become used to high-speed content, traditional learning methods may feel less stimulating. As a result, they may lose focus more easily, switch between tasks frequently, and find it harder to complete assignments without distractions. This constant shifting of attention reduces the brain’s ability to retain information effectively.
