J&K Sizzles: Heat and Humidity to Continue

J&K to Sizzle Through Week, Rain Predicted from July 27

Srinagar: The Meteorological Department has issued a forecast predicting continued hot and humid weather conditions across Jammu and Kashmir until July 26. While there is no significant weather activity expected until the end of the month, the weather office has warned of isolated to scattered rainfall in both divisions over the next few days.

From July 21 to 26, the region can expect mainly clear to partly cloudy skies with brief spells of rain and thundershowers in isolated to scattered areas of Kashmir and scattered to fairly widespread areas of Jammu. However, these showers are unlikely to provide significant relief from the heat and humidity.

The weather pattern is expected to change from July 27 onwards, with partly to generally cloudy conditions and intermittent spells of light to moderate rain and thundershowers predicted for many places in both Jammu and Kashmir. The department has cautioned that intense showers during brief periods could lead to landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones in vulnerable areas of Jammu division.

Residents are advised to take necessary precautions to protect themselves from the heat and to be vigilant during the predicted rainy spell.
