SDM seals Trust, CWC Sgr asks Orphanage head to produce all missing children before Committee forthwith

Eighteen children are missing from an orphanage in Srinagar, the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) said on Friday. The Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Srinagar has sealed the unregistered orphanage, the Al-Miskeen Yateem Trust, and asked the orphanage head to produce all the missing children before the Committee forthwith.

The CWC said that it had received a complaint about the orphanage and conducted a raid on Friday. During the raid, the Committee found that the orphanage was unregistered and that 18 children were missing from the premises.

The CWC has asked the orphanage head to produce all the missing children before the Committee within 24 hours. The Committee has also asked the SDM Srinagar to investigate the matter and take necessary action.

The incident has raised serious concerns about the safety and well-being of children in orphanages. It is important to ensure that all orphanages are registered and that they meet all the necessary safety and security standards.

The CWC has also appealed to the public to come forward with any information about the missing children. Anyone with information can contact the CWC Srinagar at 0194-2455000.
