Shutdown across Valley against harassment of Kashmiris in parts of India

Normal life was hit across the Valley on Sunday due to a shutdown called by the business bodies to protest the harassment of Kashmiris living outside. Following the Pulwama attack on a CRPF convoy, there have been reports of harassment of Kashmiris living outside the Valley.
The Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA), an amalgam of traders’ bodies, and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders also staged protests in Srinagar, demanding the safety of Kashmiris living outside the Valley.

Shops and business establishments remained shut while public transport remained off the roads. Shops remained shut even in Srinagar’s uptown areas such as Rawalpora, Jawaharnagar and Sanatnagar, where shutdown calls usually have a mixed response.
