Return home, Contest polls: Ravinder Raina to Syed Salahuddin

State BJP president Ravinder Raina has ‘advised’ Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin to renounce violence, return home to J&K and join the mainstream.
Speaking at the party headquarters on Thursday after receiving a rousing welcome, Raina sent a message across to the Hizbul Mujahideen chief to avail the ceasefire chance, join the democratic process in J&K and contest elections.
“This is a chance given by the Union Government to anti-social elements, militants and misguided youth in the Kashmir valley to drop guns and join the mainstream,” Raina said, adding, “I also ask Salahuddin to stop taking asylums in Pakistan and other countries and come back home”.
On the ceasefire announced by the Centre, the party state president said though security forces were asked to exercise restraint during Ramzan and Amarnath yatra, they would strike hard if any mischief was done from the militants’ side.
He said the ceasefire was not unilateral but conditional. “We will not strike. But if the first fire comes from militants from within the state or across the border, our jawans will not hesitate from showering bullets,” Raina said.
Eulogising the role of the Dogras of Jammu and Praja Parishad’s foundational role in laying the basis of the BJP here, Raina said over the years, the state’s some part had gone into the illegal control of China and Pakistan which was to be taken back.
“People of PoJK, Gilgit and Baltistan are our people and the land in the illegal occupation of the enemy is ours. We will take back that land and any mischief from Pakistan will not hold back our brave Dogras to hoist a tricolour in Lahore,” Raina added.
