Suspected Militants killed civilian and injured three of his relatives in Hajin

Militants kidnapped a civilian and injured three of his relatives in Hajin Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Tuesday.

Suspected militants of Lashkar-e-Toiba barged into the house of one Farooq Ahmad Parray at Hajin on Monday night and opened fire on inmates, a police spokesman said.

“The terrorists used knives to cause grievous injuries to wife, daughter and brother of Farooq,” he said. The militants also kidnapped Muntazir Ahmad Parrey, son-in-law of the house owner from there, the spokesman said.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday recovered the body of a youth abducted by gunmen last night from his in-laws’ home in Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
A police official said that the body of Naseer Ahmad Sheikh (26), son of Ghulam Nabi Sheikh, was recovered from a nallah in Baghat Mohalla Shahgund, five kilometers from his residence in Hajin.

Naseer, as per his family and the police, was kidnapped at gunpoint by suspected militants from the house of his in-laws last night around 10:15 pm.
Three of his relatives were injured after they tried to resist his kidnapping.
“The body bears visible bullet marks. It will be handed over to the next of his kin after post-mortem,” said a police official.

The spokesman said the militants had killed Farooq Ahmad’s son last year. “Muzzafar Ahmad Parrey was killed ruthlessly by terrorists last summer. He was first decapitated and then the body was thrown into the river,” he added.
