As the PDP-BJP coalition completes its half term, the top leadership of the Sangh Parivar will review the performance of this “experiment” during a four-day crucial conclave scheduled to be held from March 15 to 18 at Nagpur.
All issues pertaining to J&K will be thoroughly discussed at the conclave to re-devise a future strategy for the state.
Sources said it was the first time that the Sangh Parivar had decided to convene such a long meeting to deliberate on legal, political, economic, social and cultural issues of Jammu and Kashmir.
The conclave will be held after a meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha of the RSS from March 8 to 11 at Nagpur, in which top Sangh leadership from J&K will brief the central team on the functioning of the coalition with the PDP. A report card about state government’s performance has already been prepared by the RSS leadership for the pratinidhi sabha meeting.
“Besides other top brass of the Sangh Parivar, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat will attend the crucial conclave for a day to get feedback about the situation in J&K,” a source said, maintaining, “Long pending issues pertaining to the state, including restoration of basic human rights to West Pakistani refugees and Valmikis living in Jammu region, will be discussed.”
Sources said the Sangh Parivar had given three years to the BJP leadership to address some human issues, but complete surrender of the local unit of the saffron party before the PDP leadership had forced the parivar to re-devise its strategy on J&K.
Although the conclave will be organised by Jammu Kashmir Study Centre (JKSC) — a think tank engaged in generating debate on political and legal issues of J&K — representatives of all offshoots of the Sangh Parivar will actively participate in the meeting to devise a future course of action.
